Welcome to adventurequest '08.
We are Ross and Bambi DeBoer and the goal of this blog is to give our friends and family a place to check up on us while we are off looking for adventure this summer and fall.
Let us catch you up a bit first on why we have this blog and what adventurequest '08 is all about. For the last five years, Bambi and I have been working feverishly to establish, build, and maintain our chiropractic practice. We love our practice and all the wonderful people we have been able to get to know through it. However, as time marches on, we realized that we have been missing out on some of the other finer points in life while we have been completely focused on our business. So, the opportunity arose this summer for us to sell our practice and join another group practice. We are all at once very excited for our new opportunity and the people we will be working with, and sad to leave our little town and all the wonderful people we have gotten to know so well along the way.
However, before going off to join our new opportunity, we decided it was time for us to shift gears a bit and to get out of the fast lane for a while. Many people may find it funny that rural Iowa has a "fast lane" but it does!! Our goal this summer is to live like the old Country Time lemonade commercials that used to be on TV. They reminded us that summer - and life for that matter, are only just so long... so kick back and enjoy a long walk, a swim in the lake, a good bike ride... you get the idea.
So here we are a few months later and we have sold our practice and getting ready to embark on this new adventure. We intend to travel extensively throughout the next 2 months and it is our goal to go out and see as much of this country as we can in the time we have.
We'll use this blog to keep everyone up to date on where we are and what we are up to as well as where we are headed next. We'd love to have people email us along the way and we'll try to include some pictures as well.
Our adventure begins Friday, August 1st at 5pm when we are officially finished with our committment here at RRCC. From there... who knows? Stay tuned to find out...

While we are extremely happy for you guys, we are also extremely sad for us. We hope that our friendship can continue to grow even though you are pursuing other opportunities! Best of luck!
We hope you guys have an amazing "adventurequest"! Be safe and enjoy the open road (or just sleeping in the trailer!).
Yeah!!! You got your blog up and running! We can not wait to see what God has in store for you. Can't wait to see the pictures form your adventurequest! And since you are not that far away I know for sure we can meet up and see each other!
We sure are going to miss you guys! I know God has great plans for you, but we are still going to be sad. Enjoy your trip, enjoy your time together and when you are back in Pella, look us up...we would love to meet up with you and have dinner or something.
